Eminent domain controversy

There's been a lot of discussion lately over the Elmhurst Group's request that Monroeville council condemn a piece of private property. Elmhurst is eyeing this land, which is currently owned by an Eckerd drug store, for the construction of a turning lane onto Jamison Lane.

The Pittsburgh Trib ran an article today about this topic.
State and county officials said they are trying to broker a deal between two businesses to keep more than 600 cars off a residential street.
State Sen. Sean Logan, D-Plum, said tax dollars could be used to resolve the problem, but the state and county could offer their services to help one business market 500,000 square feet of empty office space.
