Pitcairn police

Has anyone ever had any luck contacting the Pitcairn police? My husband and I got a parking ticket in February 2008. We immediately wrote out a check and put it in the slot labeled "parking tickets" at the borough building. We watched each month as our check was never cashed, wondering what was going on but not sure what to do. We figured that if they didn't receive the check they surely would have contacted us because we only had about three days to pay it before the cost went up. Well, wrong. In May we receive a letter claiming they never got a check. Fine. We decided to call and figure out what happened. We have now been calling for a week and a half, left several messages, and not once have we received even a phone call back. Not once. Now I have to pay a fine for being late on the payment or face courtime. You would think they could at least call me back to discuss the matter, but no. This is ridiculous. I feel like I'm defending myself against an answering machine. Shouldn't it be easier to get in touch with our local police department? I realize they are busy, and there are a lot more important things than a parking ticket to the police, but seriously, five minutes of their time to clear this up, or at least have our voices heard would be common decency.

You would probably have better luck going down to the street corner and waiting for curfew or their latest raid on Broadway. Surely you can talk to some one face to face down there; they certainly seem to be around enough (thank goodness)! Go talk to them!
Pepsi3,
You are going to have to go and speak with someone in the Boro office. Once they (the police) write the ticket they dont hear anything else about it until the boro office tells them it wasn't paid. If you dropped the check off in the box the girls in the office handle it from there.
Stop in and see
