This morning, June 27, 2007 in the Tribune-Review: PennDOT surprised Parkway East motorists Tuesday by switching construction work from the inbound lanes to the outbound for the rest of the week.

Crews will close two outbound lanes nightly through the week, then shut down all three outbound lanes for the weekend starting Friday evening. Only one outbound lane will remain open from the area of Bates Street to the Edgewood-Swissvale exits between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The outbound lanes will reopen during the day. No inbound lanes will be closed through the week. The weekend closing starts at 8 p.m. Friday and runs to early Monday morning. The Tribune-Review has more details on this and future closings.
