Monroeville Historical Society will hold a program on antiques, including appraisals, on May 18 at the historic McGinley House.
A free program involving discussion about and demonstrations of items used by women during the Civil War period will begin at 1 p.m.
Appraisals by Jeff Poole, world traveler and shopper and owner of On the Diamond Antiques in Ligonier, will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Cost of appraisals is $5 for one item, $3 for each additional item; for items too large to bring to the event, bring several photos. Appraisals of and information about old trains will be available.
The McGinley House is handicap-accessible and free parking is available. Tours of the McGinley House and McCully Log House, both on McGinley Road, past Forbes Regional Hospital and across from HealthSouth, will be available after the program.
